A long tapered baton, hanging from a small link at the top.

It narrows sharply at the join and swells toward the base, so all the weight sits at the bottom where it swings. There is no stone and no texture. The whole earring is one clean line of polished gold.

Length like this changes a face more than width does. A drop earring lengthens the neck the way a chevron ring lengthens a hand, and it works for the same reason.
