Every link is patterned.

Rather than repeating a plain oval, this chain uses a decorative link with an open centre and worked edges, joined so the pattern runs continuously from clasp to clasp. It reads as ornamental at close range and simply substantial from a distance.

Chains like this were common in antique jewellery and largely disappeared, because they take considerably more work than a standard link. They are worth the difference.

There is no pendant and none is needed. The chain is the piece.
