A scallop shell, hung from a chain scattered with small green beads.

The shell is ridged and rounded, sized small enough to sit neatly at the base of the throat rather than dominate it. The green beads run along the chain at intervals, which is the detail that lifts this out of ordinary shell jewellery.

It belongs to summer and it survives it. Salt water and chlorine do not touch the gold, so it can go straight from the beach into the evening without coming off.
